Grup SS501, memang dibentuk oleh DSP Entertainment sebagai boyband multi talenta. hal ini telihat dari nama mereka. SS501, 'S' pertama dapat berarti "sun, star, special" yang menjadi lambang masa depan mereka. sementara 'S' kedua adalah singkatan untuk 'singer', dan '501' berarti 5 yang abadi menjadi 1. angka ini menandakan kelima personel yang melebur menjadi satu.
